“Holy Manolo, look at those shoes!” We've all had moments of shoe envy. Or maybe vacation envy. But what about entrepreneur envy? It's a little different — you can't purchase your way to being an entrepreneur — but not that different. For me, it usually goes something like this. I see someone online and my curiosity is piqued. I think, "Great hair and a multimillion dollar business. (Plus she's probably wearing fab shoes that aren't shown in the photo.) I wonder what her secret is." So I try to find out. I check out her website, then Twitter, watch a few videos, then do some Instagram stalking, all of which (about 2 hours later) confirm that, yes, she actually IS just as fabulous and accomplished as she looks. She's like Wonder Woman for businesses. How does she do it? Is there some special super power that all successful entrepreneurs share?
I don't really know the answer to that, but I do know that we can all take inspiration from everyone who's successful. Their particular business and path to success might be very different from yours, but chances are, there will be things from their story that you can relate to and learn from. Once again, I'm sharing quotes from some amazing female entrepreneurs who've built thriving, forward-thinking businesses. They are true leaders using their super powers to empower others... and make money in the process! You go girls!
Entrepreneurs Who Rock! Wonder Women Powers, Activate!
Here's a quick look at the women I'm taking inspo from this week.
Marie Forleo — She's a business coach (just like me!) who calls herself a Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur. She offers online training programs, books and advice to help her clients unlock their potential to live the life they want. A pretty amazing chick if you ask me, plus... her hair!
Ali Brown — You might recognize this entrepreneur, business coach, author, speaker and personality from Secret Millionaire or her Glambition Radio show (why didn't I think of that word?!). She works with a wide range of companies and entrepreneurs, and she's devoted to empowering women entrepreneurs. She's got over 65,000 members enrolled in her programs. Wow!
Anita Roddick — Founder of The Body Shop, one of the UK's most famous and respected brands. The Body Shop produced and sold cosmetics in its own retail stores and I bet you you've bought some of their products. It was one of the first companies to prohibit the use of ingredients tested on animals and one of the first to promote fair trade with third world countries. Talk about using your super power for good!
Chalene Johnson — She's a best-selling author, health and lifestyle expert, and health podcaster with over 20 million downloads of her show. Together with her husband, she has built and sold several multimillion-dollar lifestyle companies, and also created a variety of personal and business development programs. 20 million downloads!!?? Impressive!
Carrie Green — Carrie started the Female Entrepreneur Association project to create a site that helps female entrepreneurs grow their businesses. She wanted to provide a platform for them to share their experiences, challenges and achievements... and talk about them, because women like to talk and share. Hmmm... #shocker!
