Have you heard about the subway car in New York that Microsoft covered in pink?
If getting our attention was the goal, they've done it...but what else does this accomplish? According to mashable.com, not much.
In their words:
"Microsoft is blanketing metropolitan areas in Surface tablet advertising and marketing, but the company may have gone too far -- at least for anyone who’s the least bit sensitive to the color pink.
...Surface is a good tablet -- probably the best one for anyone who loves Windows -- but this pink car sends the wrong message. Actually, it doesn't send any message, at all. It simply propels you brain into pink overdrive. And, unless you love pink, that’s not necessarily a good thing."
So, the question is, where do you draw the line at just capturing attention? Is any publicity good publicity?
