Mobile Marketing 101

COMF 5 is a mobile marketing tool that allows you to target individuals with videos and downloads straight to their mobile devices, offering easy-to-use tutorials and web page creation. By integrating this tool, you can create a targeted mobile marketing campaign, keeping messages concise and limiting graphics to avoid overwhelming users.

1. Get Comfy With COMF 5 - I can't tell you how excited I was to learn about this COMF 5 thing. My friend and fellow business associate, Merri Jill Finstrom of HutDogs, hipped me to this great tool, that for a small fee will allow you to target market anything, to individuals via video, downloads, etc....straight to your mobile device! They even offer tutorials to help you get started. You can also create your own web pages. Check them out.

2. Create a Campaign - Just as you would in your normal marketing world, you should create a campaign in Mobile marketing as well. Since it's targeted, be sure to keep your message targeted and to the point. Remember--it's a text message that you are sending. Don't go heavy on the graphics and don't text/email more than twice a week. In addition, if you are mobile marketing AND email campaigning the same user, be aware of that and don't spam them.

3. Collect the Digits - Okay, so it's great to have emails, but now, it's even more common to get those phone numbers! Collect as many as you can from the group you are targeting. How? Make the users opt-in with their name, email address, and phone number before accessing your website.

4. Make Everyone a Winner! Give incentive for those who opt in to get your messages. Give them something free that will make them want to read what you have to say. You don't have to offer something free every time you text them, but a bonus every now and then doesn't hurt.

5. Site for Sore Eyes - Create a website that's mobile friendly. Have you ever used a travel application for your phone? For example, when you check in on Virgin Airlines via your mobile, they offer a site that's user friendly (in size/text/imagery) for your phone! This means it may not look exactly like the website that's online, but it will definitely work.

Have Fun and Be Profitable!
