Break the Spell: Learn to Stop Worrying

It's easy to get caught up in worrying and focusing on worst-case scenarios, but you can shift your mindset toward more positive outcomes. Start by writing down five possible positive results from your current situation, no matter how small or unlikely they seem. Then, take time for yourself—whether that means going for a walk, dancing, or just relaxing with some deep breathing. Sometimes, the best way to ease your worries is to help someone else, so consider volunteering or reaching out to someone in need. And never underestimate the power of a hug, whether it’s from a person or a pet!

So many of us spend so much time worrying and conjuring up these mental monsters that we focus on all of the horrible things that can happen. We forget that we can use our mind to actually improve the situation. So whether you're worrying about money, where your next client is coming from, or that bad habit of yours, turn your attention to the 5 outcomes you'd like to see happen instead. Cheryl Richardson gave me the idea to conjure up some steps for you to take. To find out more about Cheryl go to her website at: CherylRichardson.com

Here are a few ways to "break the spell":

Write down five possible POSITIVE outcomes that can come from this current situation. Even if it seems ridiculous at the time to find five positives, just do it. Put them in writing and concentrate on those good vibes.

Take TIME OUT for yourself. Take a walk, go to the gym, or play your favorite tunes and dance around the house! Whatever it takes to unwind. Physical activity will always help you to turn things around.

Get some rest! Take some time to lay down and BREATHE. Keep a notebook by your side. That way you can jot down any distracting thoughts that are running around in your head. Get those thoughts in that notebook and move on.

Give yourself some perspective. Taking the focus off yourself is a fantastic way to experience a true wake-up call in life. No matter how large your worries may seem, there's always someone out there who needs your help. Just a few hours of volunteer work or even calling a sick relative is a great way to start.

Give and receive HUGS. It may sound corny, but giving and receiving hugs is a wonderful way to start turning things around. Stress and worry relief can be as simple as spending quality time with your dog or cat.

Always remember that you're never alone. We all go through times of worry. It's up to you how long you'd like to stay there. Make it short 😉
