Entrepreneur is defined in the dictionary as a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. There is definitely a lot of risk involved with being an entrepreneur and a lot of managing a company. However, if I were in charge of writing the definition, I would have to say an entrepreneur is someone who is driven and has a desire to create. They are risk takers and eccentric people! Entrepreneurs are able to endure pain, exhaustion, and overcome most problems.

It is exhausting to be an entrepreneur and I sometimes have to remind myself why I am one.

Being in control. Entrepreneurs have complete control over their life! Although it can become very hectic, you just have to remember that you are your own boss and you have created something from the ground up! Whenever you find the time, you are able to take a vacation with your family or friends. Most importantly, there is not one person who can fire you.

Fun at work. An entrepreneur does not have a set work schedule. They are consistently on the clock and on the run. However, they have created their work environment and therefore it should be enjoyed! They don’t have to walk into work with a suit and tie, they can dress in casual attire. Since an entrepreneur is in charge, they can create fun ways to lighten up a workload. Maybe take time out of your day for some yoga or even a quick trip to the nail salon with some employees!

Self Confidence. Someone who has built a company from the ground up or taken their idea and watch it grow into something magnificent, should have an exorbitant amount confidence in themselves! Although it doesn’t always go according to plan, an entrepreneur should always remind himself or herself that they have been able to create a business and not everyone can do that.

Giving Back. Not only do entrepreneurs create a job for themselves, but also they create jobs for other people! Opening your own business gives others the opportunity to have a job in a fabulous company.

As an entrepreneur, what motivates you to keep going?
