Who's Your Celebrity Crush? I'll Tell You Mine If You Tell Me Yours!

Do you have a celebrity crush? Come on, we all have one! It's that famous person who makes us swoon and gush like we did in high school when the secret love of our life walked by (most likely not noticing us at all). I went to a small all-girls school, so the imaginary scenes that played out in my head — the sea of students in the hallway parting as he came into view and flashed me a big smile, while everyone watched jealously — always took place at some enormous, busy high school from a movie. And the "he" was played by Judd Nelson, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, Andrew McCarthy or fill-in-the-blank with anyone else from the cast of The Outsiders or any John Hughes movie. I'm not sure what George Clooney looked like back then, but he'd definitely have been on that list, if only he'd started acting already.

Alright, can we talk about George Clooney for a sec? OK, longer than that. I'm sharing quotes from him this week, so I'm pretty much giving this whole blog over to thoughts on the man. He arrived on the scene a full-fledged adult, no awkward stage or embarrassing ads for Bubble Yum lurking in his past. (If there are, please don't tell me. Trying to keep a certain mystique going here, people!) He was just full-on talented and hot, the perfect man to be my grownup celebrity crush. He didn't part the Red Sea in my high school hallway dream. It was more of a 20-something meet-cute in the kitchen of the restaurant where I worked. (Actually, I lived that real-life story... and married the man. But hey, I can re-imagine however I want.)

George Clooney — He's Just Like Me!

And you know what? Stars — they're just like us! Or in this case, like me! I have so much in common with my TV, internet, movie, imaginary bf George, but I'll try my best to limit talking about just a few things, like five.

The man loves himself some tequila. And so do I! He started a Tequila company — accidentally. That's how all the articles describe it, as if "Whoops, I think I just started a company by mistake." And he did it with Cindy Crawford's husband, because, of course. I haven't started my own brand of tequila, or vodka, yet. But maybe something with vodka & donuts is in my future. Hmmm...

Mr. Piggy/Miss Piggy. He had a pet pig — and so do I! His was named Max (RIP). And mine is named Pop Tart. He had Max for 18 years. We'll see how long my sweet Pop Tart holds on.

He loves Italy. And so do I! I was totally going to buy a house on Lake Como, but then I was so busy enjoying gelato and buying Italian shoes that I forgot. But I was this close...!

He loves a party. And so do I! I hear he makes a mean taco — to go with the tequila that he accidentally started selling — and loves to host his friends for a good time. I love doing that so much that I started a business to help other people do it too. See, we're a match made in heaven!

He works his butt off. And so do I! I admire a hardworking, savvy person who's always interested in new opportunities. So what's not to love? Plus, he's funny and has an amazing wife who's helping save the world. Funny how he doesn't have a wife in my imaginary scenarios. Sigh.
