I'm sure you've heard this often-quoted definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. That sounds like a logical way to describe it, doesn't it? Why on earth should we expect a different outcome if we keep repeating the same action? Except, that is, if we're in Vegas dropping money at the roulette table. Then for some reason, our brains think we totally could be one bet away from getting lucky, and rich! But that's a whole other topic to psychoanalyze. Back in the real world, repeating the same action usually produces the same outcome. And what genius pointed that out for us? Why, none other than Albert Einstein. Turns out he wasn't just a brainiac when it came to math and physics. He also had plenty of insights about intelligence and human nature.
