Running your own business can be tough going sometimes. Do you have days when you question your decisions? Everyone does, right? But you get to do it with the added weight of knowing that so much rides on you making good decisions: your company’s profitability, its actual survival, your employees’ jobs. You know, minor stuff like that! Oh, the joys of being a small business owner! So when you get distracted by your daily workload, it’s easy to let your concerns and busywork overtake your thoughts. Before you know it, that's all you can think about!
Ever feel like you don't have time to think about how you run your business or your overall philosophy? Well, it's time to change that! Work into your daily routine a little reflection time. Yeah right, you're saying! OK, I don't mean you need to pull out the yoga mat and meditate in your office while people are lined up outside your door waiting for you to finish. But you do need to make a point of reflecting on where you'd like your business to go and how you're going to get there. A little big picture thinking sprinkled with some positive thoughts can help.
