Keep An Open Mind! You Never Know When You'll Get Great Advice!

Are you good at giving advice? I sure am! That's pretty much the point of this blog. I share my experiences, suggestions and expertise with you, and hopefully some of it is helpful. If you want very specific advice, you can hire me to develop a plan tailor-made just for your business. That's the 'small business coach' thing that I do. And even though I get paid to give "advice," that doesn't make me an expert on everything. I mean, no one knows everything. I always look to other people to learn more and to be inspired. Part of this learning journey is being open to receiving advice, which is sometimes given when I haven't asked for it. That's always fun. But since you never know where the best advice will come from, you've got to be open minded all the time. Piece of cake, right?

Yeah, I know, easier said than done. But it's true that being open minded can make you ready to hear and learn from things that you might not normally pay attention to... and people you might not otherwise listen to. In my personal life, my parents give great advice. When it comes to business, I have a trusted group of friends and fellow business owners I turn to when I need help or want to bounce ideas off someone else. Being my own boss means I sometimes need to look outward for answers and guidance. So I have a few mentors I've developed relationships with over the years to get the perspective of successful people who've "been there, done that." They're a little older and wiser, and their insight is invaluable to me. Plus, being around them makes me feel young, so there's that.
