Follow The Leader! Amazing Women In Politics I Admire & Respect!

I started the year by paying tribute to some amazing women — Malala Yousafzai, Rosa Parks, Kerry Washington, Angelina Jolie, to name a few — all accomplished women who've made their mark for very different reasons. Not wanting to give up a good thing, I'm keeping the love fest going. Why stop? There are so many strong, smart, capable women who I can learn from and whose wisdom I can share, courtesy of The Profit Goddess!. (You're welcome.) This week, I've chosen some influential leaders in politics whom I greatly admire.

I've never had political aspirations myself. It's hard to imagine doing my job and constantly being critiqued by everyone. Bad enough when I have a client with multiple people who can't get on the same page about an event. But imagine the entire country weighing in! It'd be like me trying to throw the identical party for everyone in LA, rural Kentucky, hippy Portland, the South and New York City. OK, it's not really like that, but that's sort of an analogy. I'd never be able to please everyone. (Though maybe if I served carb-free, gluten-free bacon-wrapped sushi with a side of kale and potato salad, I might have a hope.)

While me doing my job well matters to me and to my clients, it doesn't exactly have ramifications for the entire populace. Thank God for that! But I can't say the same about the work of the influential leaders I'm quoting this week. I admire Angela Merkel, but I wouldn't want to trade places with her! Would you?

It's a fascinating, varied collection of people from the arts, business, politics, science and much more. Maybe bookmark it to peruse next time you're looking for some interesting reading. Or when you need to remind yourself that maybe your job isn't the most important thing in the world!

I always say running a business means the work never ends! Ain't that the truth? I bet your to-do list is a mile long! Make sure that the items at the top of your list are the things that relate to being more profitable. Everyone is so proud of being so "busy"...But Are You Making Any Money?
